Banned Walmart customer arrested on felony larceny from merchant charge

A banned Walmart customer faces felony larceny from a merchant, damage to property, and second-degree trespass charges.

Forty-one-year-old Alfred Norris of Candor was arrested after police were called to Walmart about a larceny in progress on Dec. 19.

“Upon arrival, officers were advised Norris was in the parking lot trying to get into his vehicle to leave,” said Chavis in a news advisory. “Aberdeen Officers were able to locate him and detain him. Aberdeen Officers then spoke with witnesses and reviewed video surveillance, at which point they determined Norris had committed a larceny by removing an anti-theft device; they also confirmed that Norris was previously banned from the business.”

The suspect’s bond was set at $5,000.
