A log truck driver and a firefighter from Montgomery County called 911 on Wednesday afternoon for a single-vehicle wreck on Glendon Carthage Road near Fair Promise Road in the Glendon community.
The log truck driver said he came around a curve to a cloud of dust. He pulled over, called 911, and helped the woman get her seatbelt off her neck.
The woman was traveling northbound on Glendon Carthage Road when a truck supposedly ran her off the road at the turn right at Fair Promise Road before allegedly leaving the scene.
The car went off the road and flipped before landing sideways up a ditch. It took firefighters nearly an hour to remove the vehicle’s roof to help the woman escape.
She suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Moore Regional Hospital.
High Falls and Carthage fire departments responded to the crash along with Moore County EMS and the N.C. Highway Patrol.
