Aberdeen Fire and Rescue responded Monday evening to a report of a bucket truck fire that was threatening nearby townhomes. The call came in just after 6 p.m. at the Duck’s Landing townhomes off Saunders Boulevard.
When the first crews arrived, they found a bucket truck fully involved in flames in the driveway of one of the townhomes.
According to Aberdeen Fire Capt. Capstaff, flames were showing from the engine and passenger compartment of the vehicle when firefighters arrived.
Though the vehicle burned in the home’s driveway, crews quickly extinguished the fire and prevented damage to the structure. The bucket truck, however, was a total loss.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Aberdeen Fire & Rescue and the Aberdeen Police Department responded to the scene.
