One person was transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash Monday morning at the intersection of U.S. 15-501 and Carolina Green Parkway.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene shortly after 9:30 a.m. following a call that a Lexus and a Cadillac had collided in the roadway and were blocking traffic.
The driver and single occupant of the Cadillac was taken to the hospital. The driver of the Lexus was shaken up but unharmed and reportedly declined transport.

The front end of the Lexus took extensive damage, whereas the Cadillac mainly sustained damage to the passenger’s side upon impact.
Traffic was diverted around the scene of the crash while crews worked to remove the vehicles and debris from the roadway to avoid further disruptions.
Authorities on scene did not provide any further detail on the cause of the collision, and the incident remains under investigation.
Southern Pines Police Department, Southern Pines Fire Department, and Moore County EMS responded to the scene.
