Deputy Chief Jonathan Richardson said the training will be held on Saturday, Jan. 8 on Bertha Lane off J. Burns Road beginning at 8 a.m.

“The live fire training will assist firefighters with gaining very valuable experience in combating structure fires,” said Richardson in a letter to area residents.

The one-day exercise “will conclude with demolition of the structure with a burn down under controlled conditions.”

There will be visible smoke and fire throughout the day.
