Lillington man accused in Moore County break-in, vehicle theft

A Lillington man has been arrested in connection with a reported break-in and vehicle theft in the Cameron area, according to the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Ronnie Fields said deputies responded on Aug. 3 to a report of a breaking and entering at a residential outbuilding where various items, including a motor vehicle, were allegedly stolen.

The department said that on Aug. 9, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol located 27-year-old Kevin Wood in Lee County in possession of the stolen vehicle. Wood was reportedly taken into custody and charged with felony breaking or entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering, and felony larceny of a motor vehicle.

Wood was booked into the Lee County Detention Center under a $25,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to make his first appearance in Moore County District Court on Aug. 13.

All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
