Man facing possessing a weapon of mass destruction, drug charges

A 31-year-old man was arrested and placed under a $50,000 secured bond at the Moore County Detention Center and is facing several charges after detectives searched a West End home on Friday.

Detectives with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office searched a home in the 3600 block of Murdocksville Road. They seized suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, MDMA ecstasy, amphetamine, alprazolam, marijuana, firearms, drug paraphernalia, and more than $1,200.

Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields said in a media release that Louis Gustafson, of West End, is facing charges of trafficking in methamphetamine by possession, possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of schedule I controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule I controlled substance, two counts of felony possession of schedule II controlled substance, manufacture marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule IV controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place to keep a controlled substance, simple possession of schedule IV controlled substance, simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possessing a weapon of mass destruction, and possession of firearm by felon.

No other details were provided.

The suspect is due in court on May 7.
