Duane Clark Springstead, 70, of Vass, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 1st.
The family will have a private celebration of his life at a later date.
Born in McKean County, PA on August 11, 1948, he was the son of the late Darrell and Aletha Wirt Springstead. Duane was a graduate of Smethport Area High School, class of 1967. After graduation, he had served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era. After an honorable discharge, he returned home to Bradford, PA before moving to the Sandhills in the late 1980s. Duane had been a member of the American Legion.
Duane is survived by his daughters: Sonia Atwell, Dawn Springstead, Nicole Olsen, and Tiffany Springstead, all of New York. He was the brother of Elvin Springstead and Arlene Morris of Fayetteville, NC. He is also survived by his 13 grandchildren, 8 Great-grandchildren and his canine companion, Neppy.
