Obituary for James Earl Morris of Robbins

James Earl “Jim” Morris, age 57, of Robbins, died at his home, Thursday, May 26, 2022.

A native of Forsyth County, Jim was the son of James Sr. and Jenny White Morris. He was a 1983 graduate of East Forsyth High School and a 1988 graduate of Appalachian State University. He was a proud “Mountaineer.”

Jim was a dedicated teacher for 29 years, teaching at Tyro Middle, East Montgomery Middle, Westmoore Elementary, Highfalls Elementary, Elise Middle, North Moore High and West Pine Middle.  Coaching was a joy for Jim. He coached many recreation, middle school and high school sports.  As a coach, teacher, mentor, youth leader and friend, he impacted countless lives, both young and old. Jim was a faithful servant of the Lord at Smyrna United Methodist Church, as a Sunday school teacher, grounds committee, trustee, administrative council, “Santa” and beloved youth leader.   God blessed Jim with the talent of woodworking and he was a man who used that talent to glorify God.   Homes all across North Carolina have cabinets designed and built by Jim’s hands. Jim was BBQ Pit Master and he shared that gift with others.  Many people looked forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas meals that included Jim’s pork and/or turkey. Jim will be remembered for his faith, a strong work ethic, his friendly face, warm smile and  “BIG” personality.

Jim is survived by his wife of 33 years Kim Hussey Morris; sons: Lt. Levi James Morris and wife Maggie, Mason William Morris and wife Emily; grandson: Grayson; parents James Sr.and Jenny Morris; brother: Jonathan Morris (Luis); sister: Jennifer Sell (Scott); nephews: Cole and Jake Sell and many friends.
