John David McRae, age 69, of Aberdeen, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 3:00 at New Home Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church from 2 until 3. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
John was born in Moore County to Annie Oakley McRae and the late John Albert “Buddy” McRae. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda McRae, son, David Zackary McRae, sister, Cheryl Ann Walters.
He was a local family businessman and enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. John was a loving son, father, grandfather, uncle and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Jonathan A. McRae and wife Christy of Carthage; daughter, Katelyn Deanna McRae of Aberdeen; grandchildren, Tyler McRae, Chase McRae, Anaka McRae, June Brewer, Jayden Brewer; niece, Jena, nephew Travis.
