Joyce Miley Knuth, age 85 of Seven Lakes died Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at her home with her family by her side.
Born October 12, 1936 in Flint, Michigan, she was the last surviving child born to Elbert and Neta Burgess Miley. Joyce was a hard worker, who successfully owned and operated several bars and restaurants. She had a sharp business sense working as a bookkeeper in her earlier life. Joyce also worked as a general manager of a successful modular home sales corporation. In retirement, Joyce took enjoyment in helping others, which led her to her final job with Home Choice Network as a caregiver.
She moved to Moore County in 1991 to assist her daughter Laura with relocation to the area, eventually settling in Seven Lakes. She was a very loving mother and grandmother and a friend to all those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley Otto Knuth and six siblings.
She is survived by her children: Laura Potts and husband Andrew of Seven Lakes, Larry Berth and wife Sarah of Sparta, Patty Lambeth of Carthage, Charlyne Boyette and husband Mosley “Gray” of Wilmington; grandchildren: Mark Potts, Malorie Evans, Jason Robbins, Dana Everett, Mary Katherine DeVane and five great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
