Obituary for Louise Wagoner Galloway Marchetti

Remembering the life of Louise Wagoner Galloway Marchetti who passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024.

Known for her beauty, strength, determination and grace, Louise was a loving southern woman. She enjoyed traveling, oyster roasting, high seas sailing, a full garden, a happy heart and just about everyone she met. 

In her 76 years, Louise invited those around her to love fully and laugh often. She was respected equally by colleagues, family and friends. 

Wife of Louis Marchetti, mother to Heather Galloway Koval and sis to Lori Gotch. She is survived by each, along with stepchildren, Chris and Julia, grandchildren including Kyle, Robert, Elizabeth, Adam, Sophia, and Lia, great grandchildren Eli, Sawyer, Jenson, Jamison and Magnolia, and a host of dedicated friends. 

In life Louise studied Nursing at Sandhills Community College (SCC). She first received licensing as a certified Nurse in 1968. Continuing her studies while working as a secretary, Louise received additional degrees as a Nurse in the Operating Room (CNOR) and in Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) concentrations by the North Carolina Board of Nursing in 1973. 

She returned to the SCC campus as an instructor in the Surgical Technology program just one year later and served as an advisory committee member after. Louise was the long time clinical educator and operating room supervisor at Moore Regional Hospital. From 1984 to 1998 she opened and served as administrator of Moore Memorial Ambulatory Surgery Gastroenterology, and Lithotripsy Center at First Health of the Carolinas. Louise continued an active role in the medical community holding leadership positions, including president and advisory committee member, on the boards of both the Association of Operating Room Nurses and the NC Association of Ambulatory Surgical Center Nurses. 

For her commitment, Louise received recognition with an Excellence in Nursing Award from Sandhills Community College in 1998.
