Marjorie Elizabeth Garner, age 95, went home to the Lord on Sunday June 11, 2023 at Peak Resource in Carthage.
Marjorie was born in Montgomery County on May 28, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Henry Jahu and Hattie Parnell Hunsucker.
She was a graduate of Southern Pines High School in 1946. Marjorie worked for Fletcher Industries as well as the Town of Southern Pines. She retired as Village Clerk for the Village of Whispering Pines. Marjorie was a member of Open Arms Community Baptist Church in Vass.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Edgar Garner; son Donald; brothers Ray, Bill, Havis, Vance; baby sister May.
She is survived by her son Philip (Pam), daughter in law Carol Garner, brothers John Henry Hunsucker of Chesapeake Va, Jimmie Hunsucker (Doris) of Southern Pines, and sister Hazeline Bullock (Mayward) of Fuquay; grandchildren Raymond Garner (Renee), Kelly Jones (Adam), Chris Garner (Devin) and 6 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 17, 2023 at 2 PM at Open Arms Community Baptist Church in Vass with Pastor John Brown officiating. The family will receive friends following the service with light refreshments served. A private burial with the family will be held at a later date.
