Obituary for William Louis Patman of Seven Lakes

William Louis Patman age 82, of Seven Lakes, NC; passed peacefully at home on March 6, 2024, with his daughters by his side.

Bill was born June 1, 1941, to the late Dr. William Louis and Nell Gaskill Patman of Siler City and Ocracoke. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis C. Patman, and sister Elizabeth P. Clark.

He is survived by his sisters, Susan Day and Rebecca Chandler of Raleigh; daughters Rebecca (Robert) Keller of Burgaw and Mary Catherine (Jeffrey) Kendrick of Wilmington; stepdaughter Jennifer (Jason) Pritchett of Atlanta, GA; and grandchildren Lillian Keller, Pierce Pritchett, and Lane Pritchett.

Bill designed and built homes for over 40 years in Seven Lakes and surrounding areas, where his eye for design is reflected in many homes and buildings throughout. Although he called Seven Lakes home, he could often be found on an adventure across the country or in Emerald Isle NC where he spent many wonderful days.  As an avid fisherman and hunter, he could always find solace in nature, loving the preparation and preservation as much as the pursuit. His passion for the outdoors was matched only by his talent in the kitchen. Whether it was preparing freshly caught fish by the campfire or crafting delicious feasts for a crowd, his cooking always made a lasting impression. He will be remembered by the fellowship of these meals and the memories of shared adventures.

The family will receive friends from 11 AM – 1 PM on Saturday, March 23rd in the Seven Lakes West Community Center. All who knew and loved him are welcome to come and share their favorite stories.
