Pinebluff Police pursuit ends in multi-vehicle crash

A pursuit by a Pinebluff Police officer resulted in a three-vehicle crash and two people transported to the hospital. The crash occurred on Saturday evening at the intersection of S. Sandhills Blvd. and Highway 15-501 near Poole Automotive in Aberdeen.

According to Aberdeen Police Chief Brian Chavis, a Pinebluff Police officer tried to stop a speeding white sedan, but the driver fled the scene in the car.

Pinebluff Police pursuit ends in vehicle crash

The officer pursued the vehicle as it headed north on U.S. 1 toward Aberdeen. As the suspect’s vehicle allegedly raced through the intersection, it slammed head-on into a Nissan Altima, occupied by a man and a woman, and then hit a Genesis sedan with two occupants.

The Altima suffered heavy front-end damage, but the man and woman escaped injury. The driver and occupant of the Genesis were injured and transported by EMS to the hospital. Their condition is unknown, but their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

According to Pinebluff Police Department, the driver of the white sedan was arrested, and a passenger fled on foot and is at large.

Aberdeen Police are investigating the traffic accident. Pinebluff Police are handling the charges against the driver and passenger.

Responding to the scene were Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and Aberdeen and Pinebluff Police departments.
