Suspects accused of taking thousands of dollars from elderly man

Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced the arrests of multiple individuals for frauds throughout Moore County.

On July 6, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office was notified of possible elder abuse in the Whispering Pines area of Moore County. After an extensive investigation, detectives found that multiple suspects fraudulently spent thousands of dollars of the victim’s money without his knowledge or permission.

On Sept. 30, detectives conducted a search at one of the suspect’s residences in the Carthage area of Moore County. As a result, the suspect was arrested, and detectives were then able to obtain multiple warrants on other persons involved.

On Sept. 30, detectives arrested Allison Paige Aldrich, 45, of Carthage. Aldrich was charged with Exploitation of an Elder, 68 counts of Identity Theft, 68 counts of Financial Card Theft, 68 counts of Obtaining Property by False Pretense, Possession of Methamphetamine, two counts of Simple Possession of Schedule VI Controlled Substance, and Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia. Aldrich was confined to the Moore County Detention Center under a $250,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on Dec. 6.

On Oct. 1, detectives arrested Crystal Anne Medlin, 46, of Cameron. Medlin was charged with four counts of Identity Theft, four counts of Financial Card Theft, four counts of Obtaining Property by False Pretense, Breaking and Entering, Larceny after Breaking and Entering, Possession of Stolen Goods, and Felony Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance. Medlin was confined to the Moore County Detention Center under a $30,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on Oct. 28.

On Oct. 1, detectives arrested James Patrick Britt, 31, of Cameron. Britt was charged with Breaking and/or Entering, Larceny after Breaking and Entering, and Possession of Stolen Goods. Britt was confined to the Moore County Detention Center under a $15,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on Oct. 28.

On Oct. 6, detectives arrested Joshua Patterson Liddell, 43, of Carthage. Liddell was charged with Identity Theft, Financial Card Theft, and Obtaining Property by False Pretense. Liddell was confined to the Moore County Detention Center under a $10,000 unsecured bond and is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on Oct. 28.

On Oct. 12, detectives arrested Thomas Lee Mims Jr., age 43, of Vass. Mims Jr. was charged with Identity Theft, Financial Card Theft, Obtaining Property by False Pretense, and Possession of Methamphetamine. Mims Jr. was confined to the Moore County Detention Center under a $15,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on Oct. 27.
