Three arrested after drug investigation in Jackson Hamlet

Three people are facing drug charges after an investigation in the Jackson Hamlet community.

Rasheem Saunders, Michael Dawkins, and Julie Patterson were arrested on Monday, Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields said in a news statement.

“On June 27th, 2022, deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office conducted a drug investigation in the 100 block of Cotton Street in Aberdeen,” said Fields.

Law enforcement confiscated methamphetamine, crack cocaine, marijuana, drug and marijuana paraphernalia, and $1,932.

Saunders, 35, of Aberdeen, was charged with felony possession of schedule VI-controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule VI-controlled substance, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.  Saunder’s secured bond was set at $5,000 secured.

Dawkins, 65, of Aberdeen, was charged with two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II-controlled substance, two counts of felony possession of schedule II-controlled substance, maintain a vehicle/dwelling/place to keep a controlled substance, simple possession of schedule VI-controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.  Dawkins’ secured bond was set at $12,500

Patterson, 53, of Southern Pines, was charged with simple possession of schedule VI-controlled substance, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. Her unsecured bond was set at $250.

The three suspects are due in court on July 27 and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
