Two facing drug charges after search in Vass

Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced the arrests of two individuals following a search in the Vass area.

On Nov. 4, deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in the 200 block of McLeod Street in Vass, said Fields in a press release.

During the search, deputies located cocaine, marijuana, oxycodone, items of drug paraphernalia, a firearm, and $5,041. The search warrant was executed at the conclusion of a drug investigation.

Nico-Lachad Monroe, 31, of Aberdeen, and Halima Douglas, 30, of Vass, were arrested on charges of felony possession of cocaine, simple possession of schedule II controlled substance, simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Douglas was also charged with maintaining a vehicle/dwelling place for controlled substance.

Monroe’s bond was set at $10,000. Douglas’ bond was $7,500. Both are due in court on Dec. 1 and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
