Woman arrested for cashing a stolen check

A 27-year-old Robbins woman is in the Moore County Detention Center under a $10,000 bond after being arrested on April 19 for stealing a check and cashing it in another county, according to Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields. 

“On March 3, 2022 the Moore County Sheriff’s Office received a report of larceny of a check from a residence in Robbins, North Carolina,” said Fields in a statement. “Sheriff’s investigators were able to identify the person responsible after the check was cashed at a business in Lee County, North Carolina.”

Jennifer Howell was charged with felony larceny of chose in action and possession of stolen goods.

Howell is due in court on April 21 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
