A woman awoke to smoke and found flames surrounding her front door on Colin Road in Robbins shortly before 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
She ran to the neighbor’s house, where they called 911. The fire was extinguished quickly, but there was no shortage of smoke to the rear of the house. She was taken to Moore Regional Hospital for burns.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and the resident’s small dog is still unaccounted for at this time.
Robbins, High Falls, Westmoore, Bennett, and Coleridge Erect responded to the call, as well as Moore County EMS and the Moore County Sheriff’s Department.
