A fire on Independence Day in Cameron heavily damaged a mobile home and displaced the family, including several animals.
The fire broke out in a home on Heron Road in the Carolina Lakes community just before 7:30 p.m.
The first arriving units reported smoke visible from at least two sides and a working fire.

Firefighters battled the fire in the dangerous heat. They managed to contain the fire inside the home, but the interior was already heavily damaged.
Fire officials told Sandhills Sentinel on the scene that the fire may have started in the laundry room area, but it is under investigation by the Moore County Fire Marshal.
The two residents at home at the time made it out safely. All pets, including one dog and four cats, also made it out with assistance from firefighters.
Red Cross is assisting the family.
Responding units were Cypress Pointe Fire Department, Carthage Fire Department, Whispering Pines Fire Department, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff’s Office and Moore County Fire Marshal.
