An Aberdeen wreck on New Year’s Day resulted in the arrest of a wanted woman from Hoke County.
Aberdeen Police Chief Brian Chavis announced in a news advisory that Amber Williams, 38, of Raeford, was arrested after a two-vehicle wreck occurred on Highway 1 and 15-501.
Aberdeen officers who responded to the wreck discovered that Williams had an outstanding warrant out of Hoke County for driving while license revoked, reckless driving, and driving left of center.
“Williams was placed under arrest for her outstanding warrant, at which time she was searched incident to her arrest,” said Chavis. “Upon the search, Aberdeen Officers located Fentanyl and drug paraphernalia on her person. The vehicle Williams was occupying was further searched after the narcotics were found on her person, and marijuana was also seized from the vehicle.”
She was charged with felony possession of Schedule II controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of Schedule VI, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A Moore County magistrate set the suspect’s secured bond at $8,000.
