An accident in Southern Pines resulted in one person being transported to the hospital for treatment.The collision occurred at the corner of Central Drive and Longleaf Road in Southern Pines at 10: 30 Saturday morning.
A Cadillac was coming out of Longleaf Road making a left turn onto Central Drive when it was hit in the passenger door by a Chevy Tahoe. The Cadillac suffered extensive damage to the passenger side necessitating the use of hydraulic tools to gain access to the passenger.
The female passenger was transported to Firsthealth Moore Regional with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Cadillac was uninjured as well as the occupants of the Tahoe.
Traffic was interrupted as one lane was shut down while emergency crews worked. Responding to the scene were Southern Pines Fire & Rescue and Southern Pines Police Department.
