Poem from Daughter, Laurie:
Every year
Everything
I have ever learned
in my lifetime
leads back to this; the fires
and the black river of loss
whose other side
is salvation,
whose meaning
none of us will ever know.
To live in this world
you must be able
to do three things;
to love what is mortal;
to hold it
Against your bones knowing
your own life depends on it;
And when the time comes to let it go,
to let it go.
“In Blackwater Woods” by Mary Oliver
Words of Remembrance from Scott:
He was a beacon of love and generosity, often taking me away
on unforgettable adventures. His curiosity sparked mine,
teaching me to find wonder in the world. Those journeys shaped
me and now, as a parent, I strive to mirror his spirt. Taking my
kids on quests that ignite their imagination- just as he did for me.
His love lived on in every story I share and every path we explore together.
Rest in Peace- you will forever be my guide.
Scott
