Virginia Key Trueblood, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 14, 2019 at home, surrounded by her family. 

Funeral services will be 3:00  PM Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Robbins First Wesleyan Church with Pastor Cameron Dockery, Pastor Darrell Garner and Pastor Royce Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Rest Cemetery

Virginia graduated from Elise High School and Greensboro Women’s College. She taught school for 34 years in Gates, Chatham, and Moore Counties. She began teaching Home Economics and later 4th grade. Virginia loved children and seeing them learn was most important to her. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts, like quilting, crocketting and ceramics, she even got her grandchildren involved in many craft projects.  Virginia loved the Lord and was very active in her church. For many years she taught Sunday School, played the piano for the church, sang in the choir, lead the Wesleyan Women’s group and enjoyed participating in church missions opportunities.

Family was especially important to Virginia and she was blessed when she was able to spend time with them. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed being a part of all their activities.  She loved to travel and trips with the family were always special.

She was preceded in death by her parents W.H. and Thelma Key; husband: Medford Trueblood;  brothers: Billy, Leroy and Paul Key. 

Virginia is survived by son Mark and wife Tammy, of Cameron: grandchildren: Rachel, Zachary, Nathan and Noah Trueblood: sisters-in-law: Almeta Key; Betty Key, Marie Key,  many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Monday, November 18, 2019 at Kennedy Funeral Home. Family and friends will also be received other times at their home in Cameron.
