One arrested on drug charges in traffic stop

A 21-year-old man from Raeford is facing drug charges after being pulled over in a traffic stop on Tuesday.

“On October 4, 2022, Deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop in the 100 block of South Sandhills Boulevard in Aberdeen,” said Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields in a statement. “During the stop, Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle. As a result of the search, Deputies located cocaine, opiates, marijuana, items of drug paraphernalia, a firearm, and $4,614.00 in currency.”

Leantae Henegan is facing charges of trafficking opium or heroin, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule I controlled substance, felony possession of schedule I controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance, felony possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule VI controlled substance, felony possession of schedule VI controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

His bond was set at $150,000. He is due in court on Oct. 19, and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
