Robbins crash sends multiple people to hospital

Friday night, just before 9 p.m., first responders were dispatched to a two-vehicle head-on collision at the intersection of Highway 24/27 and Highway 705, also referred to locally as “Robbins Crossroads.”

Authorities arrived on the scene to find a Toyota RAV4 SUV and a Honda Accord were crushed together and occupying the shoulder in the eastbound lane.

A family of four occupied the Toyota, and the driver was the only occupant of the Honda.

The woman driving the Accord and the two children in the SUV were transported to Moore Regional Hospital while the parents rode with them. Their condition is unknown.

Both vehicles suffered heavy front damage, and airbags were deployed in both vehicles.

The Moore County Sheriff’s Office, Robbins Police Department, and Robbins Fire and Rescue closed the eastbound lane while the North Carolina State Highway Patrol investigated the accident. No further details regarding the cause have been disclosed at this time.
