Nikki Bradshaw offers a variety of boutique women’s items at Southern Charm in Robbins. She opened the store in December, and the Robbins native lives down the street from the shop. Southern Charm is regularly open Thursdays through Saturdays and will soon open on Wednesdays too.

The store’s Facebook page, Southern Charm NC, announces that she is open by appointment, but Bradshaw said she is not that formal and can be at the shop most any time with timely notification by calling her at (910) 639-1935. She also opens the store for private shopping groups.

“People go into pottery town and to Westmoore Restaurant and make a day of it, and they spend a couple of hours shopping here, and if they bring the kids, they get to watch Disney and play,” Bradshaw said. “Ladies also make an afternoon at Crafter’s Heart next door and come shop.”

There is a children’s nook with movies, toys, chairs and a table to keep the kids occupied.

There is also a set of heavy upholstered chairs Bradshaw said are “husband’s waiting chairs, and my grandpa and his friend use them a lot just to visit. People do that here, just come in and fellowship.”

The industrialized renovated style of the boutique is an urban trend that catches the out-of-towners by surprise as does the unique apparel selection.

The store is a casual boutique with a country flair and carries little girl clothes and ladies’ sizes up to 3X.

There are racks of spaghetti strap summer dresses, jumpsuits and rompers for summer casual wear and bathing suits and conservative tunic wraps to match with white pants.

Southern Charm carries both summer Hawaiian prints and pastels. Primary colors combined with wraps and accessories lend themselves from casual to dinner meeting.

The store also offers Tuxedo rentals and bride’s gifts. There is a wide array of gift items, holiday novelties, decorative items, candy, pickles, and honey. Bradshaw sells out of her homemade apple butter.

Jewelry and accessories are displayed throughout the store and Fourth of the July earrings are also for sale. The boutique store displayed its commitment to the community during Easter.

Under the early stages of COVID-19 when many children’s events were canceled, Nikki “hopped” out of Southern Charm in an Easter Bunny suit to hand out eggs and candy to families in passing vehicles. She also made custom Easter baskets.

“In a small town, you know the people,” Nikki said about her effort to keep a thread of normalcy during difficult times.

Many shoppers have good things to say about Southern Charm.

“So many nice things and reasonable prices. Nikki is so sweet and friendly. If you’re looking for something as a gift or just for yourself. I recommend you stop and see for yourself. I picked up the most adorable mauve top today and love it! Will be going back for more!” customer Brandy Bell Thomas said.

“Awesome place! Cute gifts, reasonable prices, fashionable clothes, and exceptional quality! Check it out!” customer Kristianne Hanson Bebout said.

Southern Charm is located at 130 North Middleton Street.
