A man and woman face multiple charges after police responded to a call concerning a suspicious vehicle in Carthage Wednesday.

Moore County Deputies were alerted to the vehicle in the100 block of River Daniel Road, according to a Thursday news advisory from the sheriff’s department.

After searching the vehicle, authorities arrested Susan Marie McRae Lira, 40, of Carthage and Miguel Lopez, 45, of Aberdeen.

Each suspect was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession of cocaine, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling place for controlled substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both were placed at the Moore County Detention Center under $5,000 bonds.

They are expected in court on April 29 and are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
