A single-vehicle wreck sent one person to the hospital Tuesday evening.
A driver of a Mazda lost control of their vehicle which plunged down an embankment and slammed into two trees just a few miles south of Vass on US 1.Â
An off-duty Aberdeen police officer and two Southern Pines firefighters were some of the first people on the scene at approximately 5:30 pm. The driver of the Mazda was removed from the vehicle with non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Moore Regional Hospital.Â
This was the scene of a similar wreck just over a week ago under similar circumstances with a young woman hitting the same two trees; however, the woman was not injured.
Responding to the scene were Cypress Point Fire Department, State Highway Patrol, and Moore County EMS.
