A driver escaped injury after a rollover accident during the rain Sunday afternoon. The accident occurred on U.S. Highway 1 just south of Hyland Hills Golf course at 4:15 p.m.
The driver of a Hyundai Entourage was heading north towards Vass when she ran off the left-hand side of the road and overturned, coming to rest in the median. There was heavy rain at the time of the accident.
The vehicle was a total loss.
The N.C. Highway Patrol was on the scene and is investigating the cause of the accident.
Responding to the scene were Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and the N.C. Highway Patrol.
