Two seriously injured in Aberdeen head-on crash

Two drivers were seriously injured after a collision on the outskirts of Aberdeen Wednesday night. The crash happened on U.S. 15-501 at its intersection with Heflin Road around 9:30 p.m. and resulted in extreme damage, road closures, and two people being transported via ambulance.

Emergency crews arriving at the scene found a Ford F-150 with heavy front-end damage in the roadway and a Honda Civic, also with significant front-end damage, just off the side of the road.

Due to inclement weather and storms across the region, medical helicopters were unable to respond. Both victims, the female driver of the Honda and the male driver of the Ford, were the only occupants of their vehicles and were transported by EMS to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
