A home in Pinebluff suffered heavy damage after a fire Friday afternoon. The home was located at the corner of West Philadelphia Avenue and Berry Street. The resident was not home at the time of the fire.
A call came into 911 from someone passing by who saw the fire. When the first fire crews arrived on the scene, there was smoke and flames showing. The fire had broken through the front of the home, and flames could be seen coming through the opening.
Fire crews were able to get the fire out within a short time. A neighbor had called the resident of the home who was at work, and he came home to find extensive damage.
The Red Cross is assisting the resident.
Responding to the fire were Pinebluff Fire & Rescue, Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Pinehurst Fire & Rescue, Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, West End Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and Pinebluff Police Department.
