Cheryl Anne Shields, 65, of Carthage, passed away at FirstHealth Hospice House on Monday, May 16, 2022.
Born in Columbus, Ohio on February 8, 1957, Cheryl was the daughter of the late Edna Walters and Robert Shields.
After graduating Walter E. Stebbins High School in Ohio, Cheryl held a number of jobs before working in the hospitality industry for twenty five years. Despite the uphill battle Cheryl often faced when it came to her health, she worked incredibly hard to support her family, and was there for anyone who needed her. Anyone who knew Cheryl, knew how much she loved being a Mother, and she was a fantastic, supportive, and loving parent to her only child, Tyler. As well as being the best daughter, sister, and aunt that she could be.
We miss her very much, but are forever thankful for the time we had.
We love you more, Cheryl.
Cheryl is survived by her only child, Tyler Shields of Carthage, North Carolina. As well as her sister, Johanna Westmen who lives with her spouse Jim Westmen, in Pinehurst, NC, and brother, Wade Walters of Sanford, NC. Three nephews, Jordan Westmen of Pinehurst, NC, Carson Walters of Sanford, NC, and Coleman Walters of Sanford, NC.
