A woman was airlifted to a trauma center following a three-vehicle wreck near the Hoke County line on Highway 15-501, south of Aberdeen, on Friday morning.
Authorities said a woman driving a Toyota car was traveling south on 15-501 after dropping off her child when she stopped to wait to turn left onto Stubby Oaks Road when a man driving a Mid-South Food Services truck did not see her and slammed into the back of her car.
The impact propelled the Toyota into the northbound lane of 15-501, where she was struck by a work van heading north on the highway. Her car then went off the road.Â
A makeshift landing zone was set up at a nearby field for Carolina Air Care to fly her to a nearby trauma center.
The man driving the Mid-South truck was transported to a hospital by ambulance, but the man from the work van was not transported to a hospital at the time of this report.
Aberdeen and Pinebluff fire departments, Moore County Sheriff’s Department, State Highway Patrol, and Rockwell Towing were also on the scene.
