Adult & Teen Challenge of Sandhills announces that, as of April 10, it has received state licensure to operate its Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP), expanding access to structured mental health and addiction treatment across the Carolinas.
A key benefit of this licensure is the ability to integrate clinical excellence with the organization’s faith-based approach. “State licensure broadens our current delivery of spiritual and evidence-based clinical care to address substance use and mental health needs alongside the spiritual foundation and community of Sandhills Adult & Teen Challenge,” said Melissa Decker, clinical director. “This results in higher success rates and lasting life change for clients.”
“This accomplishment reflects the hard work of our clinical team and Dr. Courtney Gaskins, Consultant,” said Russ Cambria, CEO/executive director. “State licensing exhibits our on-going commitment to providing the highest quality of faith-centered, clinical care to our clients/students as they overcome addiction and transform their lives.”
Team members emphasized the impact of the new program in a series of statements.
“I’m excited to welcome our first participants and connect them with vital resources,” said Andrew Peters, intake coordinator.
“This isn’t just a program—it’s a promise of healing and hope,” said Kenny Caristo, peer support specialist.
“This license opens the door to deeper impact in our community,” added David Walker, peer support specialist.
The SAIOP program will provide counseling, therapeutic services, and recovery support for individuals seeking freedom from addiction while simultaneously enrolled in the long-term, residential program.
