Authorities arrest motor vehicle theft

Authorities arrested three people from Robbins after receiving a report of a stolen vehicle in Carthage.

Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced the arrests Thursday.

“On April 28th, 2020, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a larceny of a motor vehicle,” said Fields in a news advisory. “After further investigation, Detectives were able to recover the stolen vehicle and arrest the individuals responsible for the theft and possession.”

On May 27, detectives arrested Brett Alexander Maness, 23. Maness was charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods, larceny of a motor vehicle, and possession of a stolen motor vehicle. Maness was confined to the Moore County Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond and is first scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on June 4.
 
Detectives also arrested Tabitha Danielle Hunt, 21, on May 27. Hunt was charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods, larceny of a motor vehicle, and possession of a stolen motor vehicle. Hunt was confined to the Moore County Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond and is first scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on June 10.
 
On May 15, Aaron Leshaun Cook, 38, was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle and possession of stolen goods. Cook received a $10,000 secured bond and is first scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on June 10.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
