A woman from Carthage is behind bars facing 12 charges ranging from child abuse, DWI, to drug offenses.
In a news advisory, Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields said Mary Vredenburg, 26, was arrested Monday after being pulled over in Carthage by Moore County Deputies.
Fields said the deputies pulled the suspect’s car over because it was traveling south in the northbound lane of Heritage Farm Road.
Authorities found 27 dosage units of Alprazolam and drug paraphernalia in Vredenburg’s vehicle.
The suspect was placed in the Moore County Detention Center under a $16,000 secured bond and charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule IV controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling place for controlled substance, simple possession of schedule IV controlled substance, three counts of misdemeanor child abuse, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while impaired.
Vredenburg also had outstanding warrants for arrest which includes possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule IV controlled substance, simple possession of schedule III controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and larceny of property or goods.
She is due in court on Dec. 17 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
