It is with much sorrow and the deepest love that we make known that our beloved Son, Brother, Nephew, Uncle, Grandson, Cousin, and friend, Dylan Patrick Gesme, passed away on Saturday, October 6th, 2018.
Dylan was incredibly smart, and always took pride in striving to understand the world outside of himself. He was a fiercely loyal advocate for his family, friends, animals, nature, and those less fortunate than him. He was a dedicated and hard-working individual who never shied away from challenges.
Dylan’s openness, approachability, sense of humor, and outgoing nature were admired by those who knew him, whether they knew him briefly, or for his entire life. Of all of his attributes, what stood out most was that Dylan was a deeply compassionate person with an unquenchable thirst to see others happy and at peace. Dylan leaves behind a legacy of loving others with every fiber of his being.
As humility and the easement of the suffering of others were Dylan’s ultimate life goals, we ask that in lieu of flowers, you join us in contributing, in his honor, to worthy causes with those missions at their core: American Foundation for Suicide Prevention; Brain & Behavior Research Foundation; the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA); or a local animal shelter/humane society that is close to your heart.
Dylan is survived by his Mother, Cynthia West-Gesme; his Father, Thomas Gesme; his Brothers, Michael and Steven (wife Tabitha); his Sister, Nicole Gesme-Park (husband William); his Niece, Austyn; and his Nephew, Declan.
Services to be held from 6-8pm, Thursday, October 11th at Boles Funeral Home, 425 W Pennsylvania Avenue, Southern Pines, NC with a private gathering for family and close friends following on Friday.
Services are entrusted to Boles Funeral Home of Southern Pines.
