Roosevelt Elliot Perkins, Jr. 54, of Aberdeen, North Carolina was born on October 7, 1964 to Mrs. Mammie Lee Blyther-Perkins and Mr. Roosevelt Elliot Perkins, Sr. He departed this life at 4:30 am on Sunday, March 25, 2018 in Southern Pines, North Carolina.

Roosevelt was educated in the Moore County School System. Later he was employed as a landscaper with Wilkes Landscaping.

Roosevelt was known to most people by his nickname, “Peanut.” He was well known by many people and loved very much. He was always willing to help anyone he could. He was kind-hearted and very friendly, never meeting a stranger.

He leaves to cherish his memories: His mother; Mammie Lee Blyther—Perkins of Aberdeen, North Carolina, his father; Roosevelt Elliot Perkins, Sr. of Excelsior, Minnesota, his special friend; Letefia Wright, of Southern Pines, North Carolina, three sons; Keyonta Perkins or New Jersey, Patrick McMillan (Shonda) of Southern Pines North Carolina, and Turrell Schenck of Brooklyn, New York, seven grandchildren, a special cousin, Maurice Wike of Southern Pines, North Carolina, a special niece, Victoria Blyther (aka “My Niecy”) of Aberdeen, North Carolina, two brothers, Victor Perkins of High Point, North Carolina and Eric Perkins, (aka “Baby Perk”) of California, six aunts; Sal Johnson (Jerome) and Hattie Wike of Raeford, North Carolina, Nat-Nat Martin and Ann Blyther of Aberdeen, North Carolina, Connie Blyther and Luviay Blyther of Brooklyn, New York, one uncle, Willie Blyther of Aberdeen, North Carolina, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Jones and Little Funeral Home Chapel in Aberdeen, NC. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
