Obituary for Terri Lee Williams

Terri Lee Williams, age 66, of Carthage, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2020 at Cox Memorial Funeral Home from 5 until 8 pm.  CDC guidelines will be followed and masks are required.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Sabetha Cemetery, in Sabetha Kansas. The family request masks to be worn.

Terri was born in Sabetha, Kansas on January 4, 1954 to Delores Wenger Brown and the late Fred Kissinger, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Cecil Williams, Jr. 

Terri graduated from Hiawatha High School in 1972. She attended Emporia State University and got her degree in education. She taught elementary school in Hiawatha, Kansas before she went back to college and received her master’s degree in education from Kansas State University. Terri taught elementary, French and academically gifted students in Kansas, Germany and North Carolina.

Terri was passionate about her faith and had a generous nature. She loved flowers, cooking and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Her fun loving spunky personality will be missed by all.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her children, Rebekah Kuykendall (Joseph) of Pacific Grove, California and Brandon Williams of Carthage; sisters, Cindy Pearce of Zionsville, Indiana, Julie Burg of Scottsdale, Arizona, Megan Hill (Andy) of Louisburg, Kansas; brother, Jan Kissinger (Kris) of Clay Center, Kansas; two grandchildren, Violet and Alice and seven nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vass Library in memory of Terri Lee Williams, 128 Seaboard St, Vass NC 28394.
