Aberdeen Police investigating incident at Walmart

Aberdeen Police determined there was no attempted child abduction at Walmart Tuesday.

Officers were called to Aberdeen Walmart on Turner street mid-afternoon to a possible attempted child abduction.

“Officers and Investigators were on scene and spoke with all parties involved with the incident,” said Aberdeen Police Captain Craig Armstrong. “After reviewing surveillance footage of the incident and speaking with the parents and other person involved, the investigation determined that there was no attempted child abduction.”

Armstrong said there are increasing reports of the situation on social media and wanted to make it clear there was no attempted abduction.
