SPPD reports increase in cases of mail theft

The Southern Pines Police Department is organizing a Traffic & Safety Awareness Day event. This event will be held outdoors and will be hosted by Sandhills Community College on May 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the rear traffic loop. It will be a family-centered event where awareness about traffic and safety topics will be offered to the public. Topics may include but are not limited to: traffic crashes, bicycle/pedestrian safety, fire services, EMS, special response teams, police K9, and impaired driving.

The Southern Pines Police Department invites the public to attend and participate in this event. There will be a vehicle and equipment display, demonstrations, interactive events and food vendors on site. This will be an event where the community can interact with local law enforcement and emergency services agencies, while also allowing the department to promote safety and build relationships.
