Moore County Sheriff’s Office released their May report Saturday morning.

During the month of May, patrol deputies averaged eleven minutes while responding to 3,230 calls for service. They served 343 civil and 27 criminal papers which included 18 domestic violence orders.

Deputies made 65 arrests, conducted 1,181 business checks and issued 46 traffic citations; 18 citations for driving with a revoked license and 44 for speeding in excess of 15 miles per hour over the posted speed limit.

Additionally, they conducted 166 community policing events and 62 ABC Store checks. Volunteers contributed 71 hours during the month of May.

Animal Services admitted 98 dogs and 75 cats, returned 16 animals to their owners, facilitated the adoption of 85 dogs and 72 cats and conducted 137 field and 95 shelter rabies vaccinations. Deputies investigated 15 animal bite reports and responded to 139 stray-animal calls.

Criminal Investigators arrested 23 suspects totaling 70 felony and two misdemeanor charges, opened 68 investigations and recovered $15,680 in stolen property.

Arrests included: one for Arson, one for Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, one for Robbery with a Firearm, one for Animal Cruelty, 13 for Breaking and Entering/Larceny, three for Drug Violations, five for Fraud and two on misdemeanor charges.

The Narcotics Division opened 31 investigations, executed one Search Warrant, three Probation Searches and arrested 27 suspects on a total of 130 Drug and Alcohol violations; five suspects were arrested for Doctor Shopping/Prescription Fraud. Narcotic Deputies seized: 1,873 grams of Marijuana, 104 dosage units of prescription pills, 36 grams of Cocaine, 28 grams of Crack-Cocaine, 17 grams of Methamphetamine, two Bindles of Heroin, two Firearms and $3,468.00 in US Currency; the estimated street value of all drugs seized was approximately $116,180.00.

Additionally, deputies conducted 62 ABC store security checks, inspected 12 ABC premise-outlets and visited 70 additional ABC premise-outlets.

The Sheriff’s Office registered two new Sex Offenders, updated the status of 25 Registered Sex Offenders, transferred two out of county and is monitoring a total of 125 Moore County Registered Sex Offenders.

In May, they issued 152 pistol purchase permits, 88 new conceal-to-carry permits and renewed 107; totaling 7,890 Moore County citizens with conceal-to-carry permits.
