Detectives discover drugs during search in Vass

Two people from Vass are facing several drug charges after law enforcement seized suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, alprazolam, marijuana and drug and marijuana paraphernalia.

Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields said in a statement to Sandhills Sentinel that his department executed a search warrant on Thursday in the 400 block of James Street in Vass and arrested Margaret Kilcullen and James Maddox.

Kilcullen, 50, is facing charges of trafficking in opium or heroin by possession, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance, felony possession of schedule II controlled substance, trafficking in methamphetamine by possession, possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, felony possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule IV controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule VI controlled substance, maintain vehicle/dwell/place controlled substance, simple possession of schedule VI-controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Maddox, 55, is facing charges of trafficking in opium or heroin by possession, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance, felony possession of schedule II controlled substance, trafficking in methamphetamine by possession, possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, felony possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule IV controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule VI controlled substance, maintain vehicle/dwell/place controlled substance, simple possession of schedule VI-controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and three counts of resisting a public officer.

Both suspects were jailed at the Moore County Detention Center on a 48-hour hold. They are due in court on April 8 and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
