Driver airlifted after head-on crash with semi-truck

A driver of a passenger car was airlifted to a trauma center after a head-on crash with a semi-truck in the northwest area of Moore County on Monday morning. The driver’s condition is unknown at this time.

Both vehicles ended up in the woods after the collision. Skid marks were seen on Spies Road near Browns Mill Road, Westmoore Volunteer Fire Department said about the accident scene.

“Driver of passenger car was stabilized on-scene by EMS personnel then airlifted by UNC Aircare to the hospital,” said Westmoore Volunteer Fire Department on its social media page.

Just a few hours later, a Cameron man lost his life after colliding with a semi-truck on U.S. 1 Business in Cameron.
