Authorities arrested a West End man last week for the solicitation of a child by computer and other related charges.

Moore County Deputies arrested Maverick Dakota Edmisten, 23, after receiving a report from a concerned parent after discovering inappropriate messages to their child. 

“Detectives reviewed the case and investigated the incident further,” said Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields. “After gathering information, conducting interviews, and examining the messages sent, an arrest was made in the case.”

Edmisten was charged with one count of solicitation of child by computer, one count of disseminate obscene material to a minor, and one count of cyberstalking.

The suspect was placed under a $50,000 secured bond, has a May 8 court date and is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
