obituary Charlie Ray Brady

Charlie Ray Brady 66, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill, NC.

Charlie was born September 9, 1954.   He was a graduate of North Moore High School, class of 1973. Charlie worked in the poultry industry before becoming a machinist for Ingersoll Rand Corporation for over 22 years.   He then worked in Sanford as a machinist and later was a truck driver for Wilson Brothers Trucking. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather.  Charlie loved flying and soloed his first time at the age of 14 years old. Time spent with his family was most important.  He proudly watched his grandchildren play ball, participate in band and dance competitions.  He loved when his family could go camping at the beach in the summer and fall. Charlie was a Mason.

Charlie loved the Lord.  He was a faithful member of Glendon Independent Christian Church, where he served in many roles over the years, Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School teacher, Deacon, choir leader and member.  Charlie also ministered at Manor Care Rehabilitation Center, where he offered devotions and music. He witnessed to all and his love for Jesus shone brightly in his daily walk with the Lord.

Charlie was a son of the late James Brady and Jessie Brady Caviness and was preceded in death by brothers: Frank Brady, Wade Brady.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cathy; children: Tara Brady Ritter and husband Bradley, Timothy Brady and Melissa Saunders, Phillip Brady and wife Angela; grandchildren: Hannah, Trevor, Logan, Carson, Madison, Haley, MacKenzie, Bobby, Savannah, Brittney, Brett; siblings: Lorraine Wood, Jewel Jessup, Yvonne Brady, Paul Caviness, Christine Brewer; many nieces, nephews and friends. 

Funeral service will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Glendon Independent Christian Church, with Reverend Brian Beane and Reverend  Curtis Barbery officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 :00 PM in the church fellowship hall.
