Jim was faithful and dedicated to his wife, Carol for over 20 years.  He enjoyed the Outer Banks, especially fishing with family and friends.  Jim was a carpenter by trade and enjoyed woodworking.  He loved the outdoors and gardening.  As a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church for over 50 years, he served as a Elder, Deacon and on numerous Committees.

His children referred to him as an animal whisperer due to his ability to attract numerous animals around his home.  Often hummingbirds would land on his hand. His cat, Molly B, was a stray that he loved dearly.  He also had peacocks that often took up residence at his house, most recently one he named “Big Boy”.
