Joseph Miles Robinson, Jr., 92 of Carthage, passed away on September 8, 2018 at his home.

Born on April 29, 1926 in Aiken County, South Carolina to the late Joseph Miles, Sr. and Frances Williams Robinson.

Miles proudly served in the US Navy during World War II from 1944-1946.  After his military service he attended and graduated in 1949 from Clemson University with a degree in Civil Engineering, later earning a degree in mechanical engineering.  He had a wonderful career and retired as owner of Robinson Engineering in 2015.

He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Lions Club and Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Men’s Group.  He was a faithful and longtime member at Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Belk Nims Robinson in 1996, and a brother Walter W. Robinson.

He is survived by his sister Elaine Lee, and by five children, Katherine Bak, Carol Williams, Joseph M. Robinson, III (Joan), John Robinson (Alison) and David Robinson (Cassy); 8 grandchildren, Daniel Bak, Emilia Bak, Carey R. Williams, John D. Williams, Matthew Robinson, Elissa Robinson, James Fields, Ellen Duncan; 6 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 3:00PM at Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church.
